Twin Tons from Anderson, Imlach Steer Harpy Eagles Back on Course

Kevlon Anderson and Tevin Imlach delivered masterful centuries to propel the Guyana Harpy Eagles into a commanding position against the Leeward Islands Hurricanes in the sixth round of the 2025 West Indies Four-Day Championship at Warner Park.

The defending champions resumed their second innings on Day 3 at 137-1, trailing by just five runs after conceding first-innings points to the Hurricanes. Anderson and Imlach, both in fine form this season, combined for a crucial 114-run partnership that swung momentum firmly in favor of the Eagles.

Anderson continued his impressive run with his third century of the season, scoring 101 off 246 balls and striking ten boundaries. His innings followed an unbeaten 77 in the first innings, showcasing his consistency throughout the tournament. Meanwhile, Captain Tevin Imlach played a gritty knock, remaining unbeaten on 103 off 215 balls. His patient innings featured just three boundaries—a six and two fours—underscoring his ability to anchor the team under pressure.

Earlier in the day, Matthew Nandu contributed with a solid 66 before being run out, adding to a crucial 91-run stand with Anderson. By stumps on Day 3, the Harpy Eagles had amassed an imposing total of 381-4, establishing a 239-run lead heading into the final day.

With Kevin Sinclair unbeaten on 31 at the close of play, Guyana is expected to push for an outright victory on the final day to maintain their position at the top of the standings ahead of their decisive clash against Trinidad and Tobago Red Force in the final round.

The Eagles will now rely on their bowlers to exploit a pitch that has largely favored batting, as they aim to secure another win and bolster their title defense. The match resumes today at Warner Park with all eyes on whether Guyana can convert their dominant position into a crucial victory.
