Police at the Itaballi Checkpoint have apprehended a gold miner after he was found in possession of 101.8 grams of marijuana during a routine search, adding to a growing list of drug-related arrests in the region.

According to police reports, the miner was traveling through the checkpoint when officers conducted a standard search of his person and belongings. The search yielded a transparent bag containing a quantity of leaves, seeds, and stems suspected to be cannabis. The substance was weighed on the spot, confirming a total of 101.8 grams.

The miner, whose identity has not yet been released, was immediately cautioned and taken into custody. He is currently assisting police with further investigations and is expected to be charged in connection with the offence.
