Motie’s Comeback: A Triumph for Harpy Eagles in Guyana

    Published on

West Indies left-arm spinner Gudakesh Motie is set to make his return to the Guyana Harpy Eagles for the upcoming third round of the 2025 West Indies four-day championship. The Eagles will face off against the West Indies Academy in a day/night encounter at the National Stadium in Providence, commencing on Wednesday, February 12, at 13:00 hrs.

Motie’s inclusion in the squad comes after he fulfilled his Test commitments in Pakistan, providing a significant boost to the Eagles’ bowling lineup. However, the team will be without Shamar Joseph, who is continuing his recovery from a shin splint injury, and is being rested as a precaution for this match. Additionally, Tagenarine Chanderpaul is sidelined due to a split webbing on his hand.

To strengthen the squad for the pink-ball fixture, all-rounder Junior Sinclair has been recalled. The Harpy Eagles remain unbeaten in their first two matches and currently sit in second place in the standings, trailing the Leeward Islands Hurricanes by a mere 0.2 points.
