Fitness Express, Guyana’s leading supplier of sports nutrition and fitness equipment, has once again thrown its support behind the local powerlifting community by sponsoring the Guyana Amateur Powerlifting Federation’s (GAPLF) upcoming Intermediates/Masters Competition.
The highly anticipated event, scheduled for May 25 at the St. Stanislaus College auditorium in Georgetown, is set to attract top intermediate and masters athletes from across the country. Competitors will vie for national titles and the opportunity to qualify for future regional and international meets.
GAPLF President Franklin Wilson expressed gratitude for Fitness Express’s continued partnership, emphasizing the crucial role sponsors play in the development of powerlifting in Guyana. “Fitness Express has been a steadfast supporter of our federation, and their backing ensures we can provide a professional and motivating platform for our athletes,” Wilson said.
The Intermediates/Masters Competition is a key fixture on the GAPLF’s annual calendar, offering both emerging and seasoned lifters a chance to showcase their strength, technique, and dedication. The event is expected to feature fierce competition in squat, bench press, and deadlift categories, with medals and trophies up for grabs.
Jamie McDonald, Managing Director of Fitness Express, highlighted the company’s commitment to promoting health, fitness, and sporting excellence in Guyana. “We are proud to support the GAPLF and help empower athletes to reach their full potential. Events like these foster discipline, camaraderie, and national pride,” McDonald noted.
Spectators can look forward to an action-packed day as athletes push their limits and inspire the next generation of powerlifters. With Fitness Express’s backing, the GAPLF is confident this year’s Intermediates/Masters Competition will set new standards for organization, excitement, and athletic achievement.
