The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) has officially announced the 24-member Golden Jaguars squad set to represent the nation in the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers. The selection features a dynamic blend of local and overseas-based talent, as Head Coach Wayne Dover and his technical team aim to make a strong impression on the international stage.
The squad is currently in Costa Rica, where they are undergoing an intensive preparation camp to fine-tune tactics and build team chemistry ahead of the qualifiers. The camp will conclude on June 4, after which the team will travel to Nicaragua for their opening match on June 6.
Guyana has been drawn in Group D alongside Panama, Nicaragua, Montserrat, and Belize. The team’s first home fixture will be against Montserrat on June 10 at the Leonora Track and Field Facility, West Coast Demerara, with kick-off scheduled for 20:00 hours.
Head Coach Wayne Dover has expressed confidence in the squad’s readiness, highlighting the benefits of the rigorous training environment in Costa Rica. The qualifiers present a significant opportunity for Guyana, as only the top team from each group will advance to the next round on the road to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
