After nearly nine years of legal proceedings, Sanjay George has been acquitted in the case of the 2016 fire murders of Mohamed Munir, 75, and his wife, Jamilla Munir, 70. The elderly couple tragically perished when their Good Hope, East Bank Essequibo home was set ablaze during a robbery on April 17, 2016.

The verdict was delivered earlier today at the High Court in Demerara following two hours of jury deliberations before Justice Jo-Ann Barlow.
