As Guyana and the United Kingdom (UK) seek to enhance their collaborative efforts on investment opportunities aimed at propelling national projects for economic growth, Finance Minister Dr. Ashni Singh convened with a delegation from the United Kingdom Export Finance (UKEF) Department on Tuesday. This group was led by the UK High Commissioner to Guyana, Ms. Jane Miller.
The Ministry of Finance reported that the UKEF delegation included notable figures such as Vomic Nur Shah, the Global Head of Business Origination; George Hames, the Regional Head of Business Origination for the Americas and South Asia; and Mr. Camilo Neira, the UKEF Country Head for Guyana.
During their discussions, Dr. Singh expressed gratitude to the UK for its ongoing support of the government’s development initiatives across various sectors. The visiting UKEF officials acknowledged Guyana as a key strategic priority and expressed eagerness to extend additional financing for essential projects within the nation. Also present at the meeting were Sherwyn Naughton, the UK’s Country Director for Trade and Investment at the British High Commission, along with several technical officials from the Ministry of Finance.
