Minister of Housing and Water, Collin Croal, has emphasized that national development and community transformation are processes that unfold gradually, with each stage building on the last to deliver lasting progress for Guyanese citizens.
Speaking at the launch of a new housing scheme in Region Four, Minister Croal addressed residents’ expectations and the government’s approach to delivering on its ambitious housing agenda. “Transformation happens in stages,” Croal stated. “We are committed to sustainable growth, but real change takes time, careful planning, and continuous investment.”
The Minister outlined how the government’s phased approach ensures that infrastructure—such as roads, drainage, water, and electricity—is delivered alongside housing, so that new communities are not just built, but thrive. He noted that over the past five years, thousands of house lots have been allocated, and each new development brings improved amenities, job opportunities, and better quality of life.
Croal also highlighted the importance of patience and partnership, urging residents to work with government agencies and local authorities to address challenges as they arise. “Every new road, every water connection, every school and health centre is a step forward,” he said. “We are building the foundation for future generations.”
The Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and ongoing community engagement as it continues to roll out housing and infrastructure projects nationwide. His remarks come as the Ministry of Housing and Water accelerates efforts to meet growing demand and fulfill the promise of affordable, accessible housing for all Guyanese.
