President Ali Urges Parents to Support and Reassure Pupils, Regardless of NGSA Results

    Published on

As thousands of students across Guyana receive their National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA) results, President Irfaan Ali has called on parents and guardians to offer unwavering support and encouragement to their children, regardless of their exam outcomes.

In a heartfelt message to the nation, President Ali emphasized that while academic achievement is important, a child’s self-worth and potential should never be defined by a single examination. He urged parents to focus on uplifting their children, reassuring them that their value extends far beyond test scores.

“Every child is unique, with their own strengths and talents,†President Ali said. “It is our duty as parents, teachers, and a society to nurture their confidence and help them realize that success comes in many forms. The NGSA is just one step in a much larger journey.â€

The President acknowledged the pressure and anxiety many students face during exam season, noting that disappointment over results can be deeply felt. He encouraged families to celebrate their children’s efforts, resilience, and dedication, and to avoid comparisons that may undermine their confidence.

President Ali also reminded parents that there are multiple pathways to success and personal fulfillment. He highlighted the government’s ongoing commitment to expanding opportunities in education, vocational training, and youth development, ensuring that every child has the chance to thrive, regardless of their NGSA placement.

As Guyana continues to invest in its education system, the President’s message serves as a timely reminder that emotional support and positive reinforcement are crucial for the healthy development of the nation’s future leaders.
