President Ali to Deliver Keynote Address at 2025 Local Content Summit

    Published on

Georgetown, Guyana – President Dr. Irfaan Ali is set to deliver the keynote address at the highly anticipated 2025 Local Content Summit, scheduled for April 8 at the Guyana Marriott Hotel. The event, themed â€œCollaborate. Invest. Build. Shaping Guyana’s Future Together,†will bring together key stakeholders from the oil and gas sector to discuss strategies for fostering economic growth and enhancing local business participation.

The summit aims to equip Guyanese businesses with the tools and partnerships needed to thrive in the rapidly expanding energy sector. This year’s agenda emphasizes actionable insights, including deep-dive discussions on upcoming opportunities, regulatory updates, and strategies for forming consortia and joint ventures. It will also highlight success stories and address challenges faced by local enterprises in navigating the evolving market landscape.

President Ali’s address is expected to underscore the government’s commitment to strengthening local content policies and ensuring that Guyanese businesses remain central to the country’s economic transformation. Since its enactment in 2021, the Local Content Act has generated significant opportunities for local enterprises, creating thousands of jobs and facilitating billions of dollars in revenue. The legislation continues to undergo reviews aimed at expanding its scope and maximizing benefits for Guyanese companies.

The summit will also feature presentations from industry leaders, government officials, and private sector representatives, focusing on capacity building, investment opportunities, and sustainable growth. Special attention will be given to supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and promoting corporate social responsibility initiatives within the industry.

Organized by MBW Energy Support Services Inc., Prestige Management Consultants, and the Ministry of Natural Resources’ Local Content Secretariat, the event is poised to foster meaningful collaborations between local businesses and global industry players. As Guyana continues its ascent as a major oil-producing nation, the summit serves as a critical platform for shaping its economic future while ensuring inclusive growth for all stakeholders.
