General Secretary of the People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR), Sherwin Benjamin, has extended congratulations to the newly appointed APNU-nominated Members of Parliament, urging them to serve with “integrity, dedication, and a steadfast commitment to the welfare of all Guyanese.”
In an official statement issued today, Benjamin said the MPs’ selection to the National Assembly reflects the trust and confidence placed in them by party supporters and the wider public. “As you embark on your parliamentary journey, I wish you success in your individual and collective endeavours,” he said.
The APNU’s newly announced 12-member parliamentary team features a diverse blend of returning legislators, professionals, and community-based leaders. Familiar faces include Coretta McDonald, A.A., a prominent trade union advocate; Ganesh Mahipaul, a vocal PNCR executive; and Hon. Nima Natacha Flue-Bess, known for her work in education and youth development.
Joining the parliamentary ranks for the first time are academic and political analyst Dr. David Hinds; educator and youth advocate Riaz Zakeer Rupnarain; and communications specialist Sherod Avery Duncan. The team also includes Linden Mayor and former Regional Chairman Sharma Raheem Solomon; distinguished attorney and peace ambassador Dr. Dexter Todd; gospel singer and entrepreneur Saiku Andrews; and Region Five representative and PNCR Vice-Chairman Vinceroy H. Jordan.
At the helm is businessman Dr. Terrence Campbell, founder of the Camex Group, who will serve as the team’s parliamentary leader, bringing a wealth of experience in business, finance, and logistics to the National Assembly.
Benjamin also praised the Leader of the PNCR for his “exemplary leadership and selfless approach” during what he described as a new political dispensation. “His unwavering support and guidance continue to inspire us all as we work together with our coalition partners to build a better Guyana,” he noted.
He further thanked party members and supporters for their “tireless efforts, sacrifices, and unwavering support” during the recently concluded general and regional elections, calling their contributions essential to the party’s continued progress.
Looking ahead, Benjamin reaffirmed the PNCR’s commitment to unseating the PPP/C government through democratic means. “Our primary focus remains on removing the PPPC from office through electoral means,” he emphasized, calling for unity and a collective effort to achieve that goal.
“The journey ahead demands our resilience and resolve,” Benjamin said, urging party members to remain committed to the struggle for “democracy, justice, and good governance.”
