The government has also prioritized education through the Guyana Online Academy of Learning (GOAL), where women constitute the majority of participants. Furthermore, policies promoting home ownership for women-headed households have enhanced financial security and stability.
Despite these advancements, Guyana remains committed to addressing persistent challenges, particularly gender-based violence. The government has implemented stringent measures to hold perpetrators accountable and support survivors through initiatives like the Spotlight Initiative.
In the private sector, companies have committed to the Women’s Empowerment Principles, promoting gender equality in the workplace and community. This commitment includes establishing leadership for gender equality, ensuring fair treatment, and promoting education and professional development for women.
