    Published on

In a significant boost for youth entrepreneurship and empowerment, Republic Bank (Guyana) Limited has awarded $4.5 million in grants to 20 young Guyanese, supporting their innovative business ideas and personal development goals.

The grants were presented during a special ceremony that celebrated the achievements and potential of the recipients, many of whom recently completed training and mentorship programmes facilitated by the bank and its partners. The initiative is part of Republic Bank’s ongoing commitment to fostering youth development, bridging the gap between education and employment, and equipping young people with the tools to succeed in today’s competitive landscape.

Each recipient will use their share of the grant funding to launch or expand small businesses, pursue further education, or implement community projects. The bank’s support extends beyond financial assistance, with recipients also benefiting from ongoing mentorship, networking opportunities, and access to professional development resources.

Republic Bank’s leadership emphasized that investing in youth is critical to Guyana’s future, noting that these grants are designed to empower the next generation of leaders, innovators, and change-makers. The bank reaffirmed its dedication to similar initiatives, highlighting the positive ripple effect such investments have on families, communities, and the wider economy.

The event drew praise from government officials, business leaders, and community advocates, all of whom underscored the importance of public-private partnerships in nurturing talent and driving national development. As the 20 young grant recipients embark on their new ventures, they serve as inspiring examples of what is possible when opportunity meets ambition.
