    Sophia man stabbed to death by reputed wife

    Police are investigating an alleged murder that occurred on Wednesday November 5, 2025 about 18:10hrs at ‘B’ Field, Sophia which claimed the life of 25-year-old Akeem Evans, a labourer of the said address.

    Investigations revealed that the deceased and his reputed wife, a 23-year-old housewife of the said address, resided in the lower flat of a two-storey concrete house owned by his parents. It is alleged that the couple was involved in an argument, during which the deceased sustained a stab wound to his chest.

    The injured man was assisted by public-spirited citizens and transported along with the suspect, to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation. Upon arrival, Evans was pronounced dead by a doctor on duty after which the suspect who is being sought fled from the hospital.

    The deceased body is presently at the hospital’s mortuary awaiting a post-mortem examination.

    Investigations are continuing.
