Queenstown, Essequibo — A tragic road accident claimed the life of 31-year-old Ghanesh Chris Ragubir, a pharmacy assistant attached to the Suddie Public Hospital, on Saturday afternoon along the Queenstown Public Road.
According to eyewitnesses, Ragubir, a resident of Adventure Village, was riding his motorcycle (CJ 7634) when he was struck by a sand-laden truck around 3 p.m. The impact of the collision flung Ragubir onto the roadway, resulting in severe injuries. Emergency responders arrived promptly but pronounced him dead at the scene.
The truck driver reportedly fled the scene immediately following the accident. Law enforcement officials have since launched an investigation and are actively searching for the individual responsible.
Ragubir’s sudden passing has left his family, colleagues, and the wider Essequibo community in mourning. The incident has also reignited concerns about road safety and the conduct of heavy-duty vehicle operators in the region.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the accident or the whereabouts of the truck driver to come forward as investigations continue.
