Georgetown, Guyana — Tiana Serena Lewis-King, a 23-year-old nursing assistant from Better Hope, East Coast Demerara, was granted bail in the sum of $350,000 by the High Court after being charged with inciting acts of terrorism. The charge stems from her alleged involvement in circulating a widely shared voice recording that made false claims regarding the autopsy of 11-year-old Adriana Younge.

Lewis-King, who was attached to the Georgetown Public Hospital, was initially remanded to prison after her first court appearance on May 9. She was not required to plead at that time. The charge was later reread to her under the Administration of Justice Act, and she entered a plea of not guilty.

The controversial voice note, which circulated between April 28 and May 5, falsely stated that Lewis-King had attended the child’s autopsy and alleged that Adriana Younge had been suffocated and sexually molested. The recording also claimed that she had been sent to observe the post-mortem by Minister of Health Dr. Frank Anthony. Both the Guyana Police Force and Dr. Anthony categorically denied these assertions, confirming that Lewis-King was not present during the autopsy and had no involvement in the case.

The viral recording sparked significant public outrage and misinformation on social media, prompting a swift investigation and the subsequent charges. Authorities described the recording as a deliberate attempt to incite public mischief and obstruct justice. Lewis-King allegedly admitted that the voice note originated from a private conversation with Romario Kingston, 34, who was also charged in connection with the incident and released on $300,000 bail.

The matter has been adjourned to June 11 for the disclosure of statements. In the meantime, authorities have urged the public to refrain from sharing unverified or inflammatory information online as investigations continue.
