    Kitty Vendor Sentenced to One Year for Attempted Felony

    A 26-year-old vendor from William Street, Kitty, was sentenced to one year in prison after pleading guilty to attempting to commit a felony.

    Anthony Omali Clarke appeared before Magistrate Abigail Gibbs at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court, where the charge was formally read. Clarke was accused of attempting to commit a felony against Joshua Kumar, a 33-year-old welder from ‘A’ Field South Sophia, on May 18th, 2025.

    According to police reports, Clarke was arrested on May 21st and charged the following day. In court, he admitted to the offense and was promptly sentenced to one year’s imprisonment.

    The case has drawn attention to the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to address criminal activity in the Kitty area. Authorities have reiterated their commitment to maintaining public safety and ensuring that those who attempt to commit crimes are held accountable.
