A linesman employed by the Guyana Power and Light (GPL) has been charged with assaulting a policewoman during a heated altercation in Georgetown. The accused, 42-year-old Mark Anthony, appeared before Magistrate Faith McGusty at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, April 10, 2025.
The incident reportedly occurred on March 30, 2025, when Anthony confronted the policewoman over a traffic-related issue. Witnesses allege that the confrontation escalated, leading to Anthony physically assaulting the officer. The policewoman sustained minor injuries and immediately filed a report, prompting an investigation.
