    Uniting Cultures: President’s Vision for a Cohesive One Guyana at Islamic World Culture Conference

    At the 13th Conference of Culture Ministers in the Islamic World, well-known Islamic scholar Shaikh Moeen-ul-Hack represented the Government of Guyana, emphasizing the innovative and forward-thinking initiative of ‘One Guyana,’ championed by President His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali. The conference, held on February 12-13, 2025, in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, provided a platform for Shaikh Moeen to discuss the vibrant and diverse nature of Guyanese society and its integration into the One Guyana framework.

    In his impactful presentation, which garnered positive responses from ministers and delegates from various nations, Shaikh Moeen pointed out that the socio-economic landscape of Guyana is experiencing significant and transformative changes under the stewardship of Dr. Ali’s vision for One Guyana. He highlighted notable advancements across multiple sectors, including housing, sports, infrastructure, health, and education, alongside effective economic management that has positioned Guyana as one of the fastest-growing economies globally.

    In his concluding remarks, Shaikh Moeen reminded the audience of the importance of cultural and religious tolerance, which has flourished under the progressive leadership of His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali, making Guyana a model for others to follow. The conference, organized by the Islamic World Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) and hosted by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Culture, focused on the theme “The Impact of Culture on Socio-Economic Development.” It brought together a diverse array of culture ministers and delegations from ICESCO Member States, as well as leaders from several regional and international cultural organizations.
