Yarrowkabra claimed the national windball cricket crown, dominating the Janet Jagan Memorial Secondary Schools Championship hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport (MCYS) and the National Sports Commission (NSC).
Championship Glory
In the finals at the National Gymnasium on Mandela Avenue, Yarrowkabra defeated Parika Salem by 10 wickets to secure the title. Parika Salem, batting first, posted 127-2 in five overs, led by Navita Calistro’s unbeaten 70, which included six maximums. Yarrowkabra chased the target with ease, finishing on 131-0 in just 4.1 overs, thanks to Vianney Jaundoo’s 80 runs with 10 sixes and Susan Patterson’s 32 runs, including five sixes.
Road to the Final
Yarrowkabra’s path to the final was marked by emphatic victories. In their opening match, they beat Lower Corentyne by 10 wickets, chasing 68 in only three overs, with Jaundoo scoring 36 and Patterson 18. In the semi-final, they crushed Three Miles by 59 runs, posting 162-0 with Patterson’s explosive 102 off 17 balls and Jaundoo’s 60 runs. Three Miles, later awarded the Spirit of the Game accolade, managed 103-0 in response.

- Parika Salem’s Journey: Parika Salem reached the final after defeating Abram Zuil by 10 wickets, with Calistro scoring 41 and Blake adding 17 in a swift chase of 68.
