The Milo/Massy Schools Under-18 Football Tournament has reached its knockout stage, with Waramuri Secondary, Santa Rosa Secondary, Chase’s Academic Foundation, and Dolphin Secondary emerging as the standout teams heading into the Round of 16. The tournament, now in its 11th edition, has seen fierce competition among 24 schools from across Guyana.

Waramuri Secondary has been a dominant force throughout the group stage, finishing unbeaten and securing their spot as one of the top qualifiers. Their consistent performances have made them one of the favorites to advance deep into the tournament.

Santa Rosa Secondary also impressed with their attacking prowess, including a commanding 5-1 victory over Charlestown Secondary in their final group-stage match. Goals from Dane Phillips, Randy Chappelle, Rupee Norton, Daren Williams, and Keshan Campbell highlighted their ability to capitalize on scoring opportunities.

Defending champions Chase’s Academic Foundation continued their stellar form, delivering a series of high-scoring wins. Their standout performance came against Three Mile Secondary, where Bryan Wharton netted an incredible seven goals in an 11-0 rout. Chase’s blend of experience and youthful talent has positioned them as strong contenders to retain their title.

Dolphin Secondary rounded out the top qualifiers with a solid display of teamwork and tactical discipline. Their unbeaten run in Group D has cemented their reputation as one of the most well-rounded teams in the tournament.

As the competition enters its knockout phase this weekend at the Ministry of Education Ground and Queen’s College Ground, fans can expect even more thrilling action. The Round of 16 promises to deliver intense matchups as teams vie for a chance to win the GYD $300,000 grand prize and claim bragging rights as champions of this prestigious tournament.

With these top teams leading the charge, the stage is set for an exciting conclusion to one of Guyana’s premier youth football events.
