RUBIS Supports Football Academy for At-Risk and Marginalized Youth

    Published on

In a significant gesture of corporate social responsibility, RUBIS Guyana has donated $2 million to the National Coordination Coalition Inc. (NCC) Football Academy. This initiative is designed to empower at-risk and marginalized youth in the Cummings Lodge and Sophia areas by providing them with essential life skills through sports.

The donation will directly support the academy’s mission to integrate sports development with academic incentives and life skills training. The program aims to motivate students to excel academically while engaging out-of-school youth in positive activities. RUBIS’s contribution aligns with its commitment to impacting the communities it serves, particularly in education and healthcare.

Joylyn Johnson, Retail Accounts Executive at RUBIS, emphasized the company’s dedication to supporting initiatives that benefit vulnerable populations. She noted that the Football Academy project aligns perfectly with RUBIS’s mission, as it offers structured coaching sessions and encourages academic excellence among its participants.

This initiative underscores the role that corporate entities can play in supporting community development and youth empowerment. By investing in programs like the NCC Football Academy, RUBIS is contributing to a broader effort to provide opportunities for at-risk youth to develop valuable skills and improve their socio-economic prospects.
