COUVA, Trinidad, (CMC) – Kayla Polius isn’t just playing football at the 2025 CFU U14 Challenge Series; she’s authoring a legendary performance.
The St. Lucia sensation secured her third consecutive hat-trick in a masterclass display, spearheading a commanding 5-0 victory over St. Kitts and Nevis in Tier I Group A match day four action.
The match at Ato Boldon Stadium was effectively the Kayla Polius show from start to finish. She coolly opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 15th minute.
Just moments later, she turned provider, setting up Sashaly Martyr for a 19th-minute goal.
Polius wasn’t done, demonstrating her poacher’s instinct to capitalise on a defensive error in the 24th minute before capping her remarkable first-half performance with a sublime 43rd-minute free-kick to complete yet another hat-trick.
Chassity McDonald added a late header to seal the comprehensive 5-0 win.
Elsewhere, at the Larry Gomes Stadium, a dramatic stoppage-time equaliser saw Bonaire snatch a 1-1 draw with the US Virgin Islands.
After a tense battle between two stellar goalkeepers, USVI’s Kyla Groetzinger broke the deadlock in the 66th minute.
Just as it seemed they had secured the win, Isabella Prado Klinger produced a moment of magic for Bonaire, dancing through the defence and curling a beautiful left-footed shot home to share the points.
Over in Tier 2, Group B action, the British Virgin Islands staged a comeback to defeat Barbados 2-1. Katelia Browne had given Barbados an early lead, but relentless pressure from BVI ace Kiyah-Starr Shelton paid off.
An own goal drew them level before Shelton finally got her deserved reward, racing onto a through ball to slot home the 34th-minute winner.
Suriname delivered a powerful statement with a 4-0 rout of Grenada. After an early goal from Chenesta Cicilson, Grenada held firm until a second-half onslaught.
Nesiah Ommel unleashed a thunderous strike in the 62nd minute before a Sherany Becker brace in two minutes sealed the dominant victory.
Over in Group C, A Keitonya Skepple brace propelled Antigua and Barbuda to a hard-fought 2-1 win over the Cayman Islands.
In the group’s other match, a seventh-minute penalty kick from Lehiana Bengamin was all Guyana needed to edge past a resilient Anguilla side 1-0.
