In a commendable performance, the Guyana Under-21 Women’s Hockey Team has clinched the bronze medal at the 2025 Pan American Hockey Federation (PAHF) Junior Challenge held in Bridgetown, Barbados. This achievement marks a significant milestone for Guyana’s youth hockey program, showcasing the team’s resilience and skill in a competitive regional tournament.
The Guyanese squad, led by captain Sarah Klautky, faced stiff competition from teams like Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Barbados. Despite a strong start with a 4-0 win over Guatemala, the team encountered setbacks, including a 6-0 loss to Mexico. However, they rebounded to secure crucial points and ultimately secure third place.
The bronze medal finish is a testament to the team’s determination and the experience gained by players like Clayza Bobb, Madison Fernandes, and Makaylah Poole, who have previously competed with the senior national team.
