Dolphin Secondary School has captured its first-ever Milo Schools Under-18 Football Championship title, edging out defending champions Chase Academic Foundation in a dramatic 3-2 victory at the Ministry of Education Ground in Georgetown.

The highly anticipated final, played before an enthusiastic crowd, saw both teams deliver spirited performances befitting the tournament’s reputation as a showcase for the nation’s top schoolboy football talent. Dolphin Secondary, considered underdogs going into the match, stunned Chase Academic Foundation with a display of resilience and attacking prowess.

Dolphin’s victory was powered by a standout performance from striker Grant, who netted a brace to help his team overturn the odds. The match was tightly contested from start to finish, with both sides exchanging goals and momentum. Despite Chase’s efforts to defend their crown, Dolphin maintained composure in the closing stages to secure the win and lift the trophy.

The championship marks a historic achievement for Dolphin Secondary, who had previously fallen short in their quest for the title. Their triumph not only brings prestige but also a $300,000 cash prize, which will be used to fund a school project of their choice. Chase Academic Foundation, as runners-up, will receive $200,000, while the third-place prize of $100,000 goes to the winner of the playoff between Waramuri Secondary and West Ruimveldt Secondary.

This year’s tournament featured 24 schools and was lauded for its role in promoting youth development, discipline, and positive values through sport. The event, coordinated by the Petra Organisation and sanctioned by the Ministry of Education, continues to be a cornerstone of Guyana’s school sports calendar.

Dolphin Secondary’s victory is a testament to their determination and teamwork, and the team now stands as an inspiration to aspiring young footballers across the country.
