In a significant boost for the sport of archery in Guyana, Bow Nation has been officially welcomed as an affiliate of Archery Guyana, the national governing body for the sport.
The announcement was made at a special ceremony held in Georgetown on Monday, where representatives from both organizations signed the formal agreement. This new partnership is expected to expand opportunities for archers across the country, foster talent development, and promote greater participation in both recreational and competitive archery.
Bow Nation, a dynamic club known for its grassroots outreach and youth engagement, has already made a mark in the local archery scene with its training programs and community initiatives. The club’s official affiliation means its members will now have access to national competitions, coaching resources, and the possibility of representing Guyana at regional and international events.
President of Archery Guyana, Mohamed Khan, welcomed Bow Nation into the fold, stating, “This affiliation marks a new chapter for archery in Guyana. By working together, we can nurture the next generation of archers and raise the standard of the sport nationwide.”
Bow Nation’s founder, Samantha Persaud, expressed excitement about the partnership, noting that it will open doors for young athletes and help build a vibrant archery community. “We are thrilled to join Archery Guyana and look forward to contributing to the growth of archery at all levels,” she said.
The affiliation comes at a time when archery is gaining popularity in Guyana, with increasing numbers of young people taking up the sport. Both organizations have pledged to collaborate on training camps, tournaments, and outreach programs aimed at making archery accessible to more communities.
With Bow Nation now officially part of the Archery Guyana family, the future looks bright for the sport, as Guyana positions itself to compete more strongly on the regional and international stage.
