Despite East Coast captain Sheldon Legall’s impressive game-high 21 points, the Flames dominated the match, securing a substantial 78-40 victory. Leon Joseph was the standout scorer for the Flames with 17 points, supported by Jadon Reynolds with 13 and Shemar Savory who contributed 18 points. The Flames established control early, leading 23-8 after the first quarter and extending their advantage to 42-23 by halftime. They continued to pull ahead, finishing the third quarter at 59-27 before sealing their victory.
In another thrilling matchup, the Amelia Ward Jets narrowly defeated the University of Guyana Trojans 66-65 in a closely contested game. The Trojans started strong, leading 17-7 at the outset and maintaining a 29-21 edge at halftime. Although the Trojans extended their lead to 47-43, the Jets rallied in the final quarter to snatch the win. Akinni Wilson was the star performer for the Jets, scoring 24 points.
The Nets also claimed victory, overpowering the Panthers 69-36. Travis Steward was instrumental in the Nets’ success with 21 points, while Jamaal Mercier and Chris Perez added 10 and 9 points, respectively.
In a nail-biting conclusion, Retrieve Raiders managed to edge past Kobras 62-59. Both teams were tied at 17-17 after the first quarter, but Kobras gained a slight edge going into halftime with a score of 35-31. Raiders captain Neil Marks led the charge with 22 points, backed by Kareem Roberts with 17 and Leandre McCoy contributing 14 points. Despite Akil Hughes leading Kobras with 14 points, the Raiders outperformed in the fourth quarter to clinch the hard-fought victory.
