West Indies fast bowler Alzarri Joseph has expressed heartfelt gratitude after being named Men’s Test Player of the Year at the prestigious Cricket West Indies (CWI) and West Indies Players’ Association (WIPA) Awards Gala.

The annual event, held on Monday evening in St. John’s, Antigua, celebrated the region’s outstanding cricketing talent, with Joseph’s consistent performances in the longest format earning him one of the night’s top accolades.

Speaking after receiving the award, Joseph said, “It’s a tremendous honour to be recognised as the Men’s Test Player of the Year. I’m grateful to my teammates, coaches, and everyone who has supported me throughout my journey. This award motivates me to keep working hard and to continue giving my best for West Indies cricket.”

Joseph, known for his fiery pace and relentless work ethic, played a pivotal role in several key Test matches over the past year. His ability to deliver breakthroughs and maintain pressure on opposition batsmen has made him a cornerstone of the West Indies bowling attack.

CWI President Dr. Kishore Shallow praised Joseph’s dedication and impact, noting, “Alzarri has been exceptional, both on and off the field. His commitment to excellence is an inspiration to young cricketers across the Caribbean.”

The CWI/WIPA Awards Gala also recognised standout performers in other formats, but Joseph’s Test exploits were a highlight of the evening. As the West Indies team looks ahead to a busy international calendar, Joseph’s leadership and skill will be crucial to their ambitions.

With this latest honour, Joseph reaffirms his status as one of the region’s premier fast bowlers and a role model for aspiring players. He remains focused on further improving his game and helping West Indies cricket reach new heights.
