    U.S. Marshals and Embassy Officials Meet with Home Affairs Minister to Enhance Security Cooperation

    In a significant effort to bolster security collaboration between Guyana and the United States, a delegation from the U.S. Marshals Service, along with officials from the U.S. Embassy Regional Security Office, engaged in a courtesy visit with Minister of Home Affairs, Robeson Benn, on Tuesday, February 11, 2025.

    The discussions, which took place in the Ministry of Home Affairs boardroom, concentrated on vital areas of cooperation, including strategies for crime fighting, extradition procedures, and mutual agreements designed to strengthen regional security initiatives. Permanent Secretary Andre Ally and other senior officials from the Ministry also participated in the talks.

    This meeting highlighted both parties’ commitment to fortifying law enforcement partnerships and addressing security challenges that impact Guyana and the broader region. The visit emphasizes the ongoing collaboration between the two nations in crucial areas such as intelligence sharing, cross-border crime prevention, and the enhancement of judicial and law enforcement systems.

    As security threats continue to evolve, both Guyana and the United States are dedicated to deepening their bilateral relationship, aiming to create a safer and more secure environment for their respective citizens.
