APAD Critiques David Hinds for Polarizing Language

    Published on

The Association of the People of African Descent (APAD) has released a compelling statement denouncing the recent comments made by David Hinds of the Working People’s Alliance (WPA), which they consider to be derogatory towards Afro-Guyanese with differing political views. In their statement, APAD asserts that every Guyanese, irrespective of their race or belief, should have the freedom to support any political ideology without facing disparagement or coercion.

They express strong disapproval of Hinds’ use of “offensive and derogatory language†directed at Afro-Guyanese who choose to think independently. “Such regressive attitudes are intolerable and go against the principles of respect and unity that we aim to uphold within our community,†the statement asserts.

APAD urges all political leaders to engage in conversations that foster understanding and advancement, rather than perpetuating disrespect and division among the citizens. This resolute position underscores APAD’s dedication to championing the dignity and rights of Afro-Guyanese, while advocating for civil discourse in political discussions.
