The announcement was made by officials from the Guyana Water Incorporated (GWI), who attributed the progress to a series of targeted investments in water treatment plants, upgraded distribution networks, and community outreach programs. “Access to clean water is fundamental to health, education, and economic development,†said a GWI spokesperson. “We are proud to report that the Essequibo Coast is now among the leading regions in Guyana for treated water coverage.â€
