Prime Minister Mark Phillips has initiated a new chapter of collaboration with the Revealed Word Christian Center (RWCC), focusing on forging impactful community development partnerships in Guyana.
During a recent engagement at the RWCC’s Georgetown headquarters, PM Phillips met with church leaders and members to discuss avenues for joint efforts aimed at uplifting local communities. The discussions centered on leveraging the church’s extensive grassroots network and longstanding commitment to social outreach to address pressing issues such as youth empowerment, education, and poverty alleviation.
Prime Minister Phillips praised the RWCC for its active role in supporting vulnerable populations and highlighted the government’s ongoing efforts to foster stronger relationships with faith-based organizations. He emphasized that such partnerships are crucial for the holistic development of communities, noting that the government alone cannot address every societal challenge.
RWCC leaders welcomed the Prime Minister’s initiative, expressing enthusiasm for deeper collaboration with public agencies. They outlined existing projects in skills training, mentorship, and food distribution, and signaled readiness to expand these programs through government support and resource sharing.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to develop a structured framework for partnership, ensuring that both the government and the church can effectively pool their resources and expertise for maximum community impact. Both sides expressed optimism that this collaboration would serve as a model for similar partnerships across the country, ultimately contributing to national development and social cohesion.
