    Published on

In a significant advancement for healthcare access, the Ministry of Health has inaugurated the Blueberry Hill Health Centre, a cutting-edge facility with an estimated value of $28.3 million. Situated in Region Ten (Upper Demerara-Berbice), this new health centre aims to provide enhanced medical services to the residents of Blueberry Hill and nearby communities, guaranteeing quality, accessible, and free healthcare for everyone.

The centre is fully outfitted to deliver a comprehensive array of primary healthcare services, such as maternal and child health, chronic disease management, immunization and vaccination programs, family planning and reproductive health services, environmental health services, and general outpatient care, among others.

During the inauguration, Health Minister Dr. Frank Anthony emphasized that the establishment of the Health Centre underscores the Government’s commitment to improving healthcare access, alleviating the pressure on regional hospitals, and ensuring that residents receive prompt and effective medical attention.

This new facility is set to greatly benefit the community by reducing travel time for individuals seeking essential healthcare and lightening the patient burden on larger healthcare institutions. The commissioning ceremony was attended by various officials, including Regional Health Officer Dr. Gregory Harris, Deputy RHO Dr. Kenesha Samuels, Regional Chairman Mr. Deron Adams, Regional Executive Officer Mr. Dwight John, and staff members from the Linden Hospital Complex.
