Bodycam Footage to Be Reviewed in Lombard Street Drug Bust

    Published on

Authorities are set to review police bodycam footage as part of the ongoing investigation into a major drug bust on Lombard Street, Georgetown, earlier this week.

The operation, which took place on May 7, resulted in the seizure of 11.148 kilograms of cocaine and the arrest of three individuals. Collin Alfred and Terrence Bentick were jointly charged with possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking, while a third individual faced charges of aiding and abetting the transportation of the drugs.

During their appearance before Magistrate Faith McGusty at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court, Alfred indicated a willingness to take responsibility, telling the court, “I will take the rap for everything.†He pleaded guilty with an explanation, while Bentick entered a not guilty plea and was represented by attorney Adrian Thompson. The two men were remanded to custody, while the third accused was granted bail.

The decision to review the bodycam footage comes amid calls for transparency and accountability in the handling of the case. Investigators hope the footage will provide critical insight into the circumstances surrounding the arrests and the seizure of the narcotics.

The case has drawn significant public interest, with community members and advocacy groups closely monitoring developments. Authorities have emphasized their commitment to a thorough and impartial investigation as the legal proceedings continue.
