On Tuesday, a fishing boat was found capsized in the Atlantic Ocean, approximately two miles from the Berbice River’s mouth. Early reports suggest that the crew members are unaccounted for.
According to INews, an anonymous tip was received by the DeEdward Fishing Co-Op, alerting them to the abandoned vessel. Noresh Jairam, Chairman of the 3-Door Sluice Fishing Co-Op, stated that two crews were dispatched to assess the situation. He confirmed that the crews have located the capsized boat; however, due to limited resources, they are unable to retrieve it at this time. As of the latest update, Jairam noted that the investigation teams remain at sea.
