    Georgetown, Guyana â€“ In a thrilling finale to the second edition of the Rock Auto Futsal Championship, defending champions Back Circle retained their title with a commanding victory over Gold is Money on Saturday night at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall. The East Ruimveldt-based team outplayed their rivals 5-2 in front of an electrified crowd, securing the coveted championship trophy and the $1 million grand prize.

    The much-anticipated showdown lived up to expectations as both teams displayed exceptional skill and determination. Back Circle, known for their resilience and tactical prowess, took control of the match early on, capitalizing on defensive lapses by Gold is Money to establish a comfortable lead.

    Gold is Money, despite their best efforts, struggled to match Back Circle’s intensity and precision. The defending champions showcased their dominance in every aspect of the game, with standout performances from key players who delivered when it mattered most.

    The victory marked a successful title defense for Back Circle, who had also won the inaugural tournament last year. Team captain Selwyn Williams expressed pride in his squad’s performance, crediting their hard work and preparation for the victory. “We came into this tournament with one goal: to defend our crown. Tonight, we showed why we are champions,†Williams said after the match.

    The Rock Auto Futsal Championship has grown in popularity since its inception, bringing together 16 of Guyana’s top futsal teams to compete for glory and substantial cash prizes. This year’s tournament featured intense group stage matches, followed by nail-biting quarterfinals and semifinals that set the stage for Saturday’s grand finale.

    Back Circle’s journey to the final included a dramatic semifinal win over North East La Penitence on penalties, showcasing their ability to thrive under pressure. Their triumph in the final solidifies their reputation as one of the premier futsal teams in Guyana.
