Rajendra Prabhulall, a respected figure in Guyanese public life, has passed away at the age of 64. Prabhulall was a former Mayor of Anna Regina, serving two terms in the role, and was also known for his work as a radio host and pastor of the Voice of Faith Ministries.
Prabhulall’s career spanned multiple fields, beginning in education. He started teaching at the age of 17 and worked at several schools, including Fisher Primary School and Port Kaituma Primary School. He later transitioned into management, overseeing the Lima Fish Port Complex before becoming the Regional Information Officer for the Regional Democratic Council in Region Two.
After retiring from his role as Regional Information Officer in 2015, Prabhulall pursued a career in politics, winning two terms as Mayor of Anna Regina starting in 2018. His dedication to public service and community development earned him respect and admiration from the residents of Anna Regina and beyond.
Prabhulall attended the St Laurence Anglican School in Hampton Court, Essequibo Coast, and began his teaching career at a young age. His commitment to education and community service was evident throughout his life, as he continued to serve in various capacities until his passing.
