    Published on

The Guyana Police Force has launched an intensive search for Allin Sahoye, a mechanic wanted in connection with the fatal stabbing of 22-year-old Saif Ally. The incident, which occurred on December 27, 2024, in North Sophia, Georgetown, has left the community in shock and a family in mourning.

According to police reports, the altercation that led to Ally’s death took place around 8:30 PM on the fateful evening. Witnesses describe a heated argument between Sahoye and Ally that quickly escalated into physical violence. The exact cause of the dispute remains unclear, but investigators are exploring several leads, including a possible longstanding feud between the two men.

Saif Ally, a resident of North Sophia, was reportedly stabbed multiple times during the confrontation. Despite the efforts of bystanders who rushed him to the Georgetown Public Hospital, Ally was pronounced dead upon arrival. The medical examiner’s report indicated that the victim suffered severe blood loss from multiple stab wounds to his chest and abdomen.

Commander of Region 4A, Assistant Commissioner Khali Pareshram, addressed the media in a press conference, stating, “We are urging Mr. Sahoye to turn himself in to the nearest police station. We also appeal to anyone with information about his whereabouts to come forward. Your cooperation is crucial in bringing justice to the victim’s family.”

The victim’s family, still grappling with their sudden loss, described Saif as a hardworking young man with aspirations of starting his own business. His mother, visibly distraught, pleaded for justice during a brief interview. “Saif was my only son. He didn’t deserve this. We need answers, and we need closure,” she said, her voice breaking with emotion.

Community leaders in North Sophia have expressed concern over what they perceive as a rise in violent crimes in the area. Reverend Michael Scott, a local pastor, called for increased police presence and community engagement programs. “We need to address the root causes of these conflicts before they escalate to such tragic ends,” he emphasized.

As the search for Allin Sahoye continues, police have released a description of the suspect and are urging the public to remain vigilant. Sahoye is described as being of East Indian descent, approximately 5’8″ tall, with a medium build and a distinctive scar on his left cheek.

The Guyana Police Force has set up a dedicated hotline for any information related to the case. They assure the public that all tips will be treated with the utmost confidentiality.

This incident has reignited discussions about conflict resolution and the accessibility of weapons in communities. Social workers and youth counselors are calling for increased intervention programs to help young people manage anger and resolve disputes peacefully.

As the investigation progresses, the North Sophia community remains on edge, with many residents expressing fear and uncertainty. The tragic loss of Saif Ally serves as a somber reminder of the devastating consequences of violence and the urgent need for community-wide efforts to prevent such incidents in the future.

Authorities have promised to leave no stone unturned in their pursuit of justice for Saif Ally and his grieving family. As the manhunt for Allin Sahoye intensifies, the community holds its breath, hoping for a swift resolution to this tragic case.
