Slingerz FC makes impact at Guyana Energy Conference, presents personalized jersey to VP Jagdeo

    Published on

Slingerz FC made a notable impact at the recently concluded Guyana Energy Conference and Supply Chain Expo, held at the Marriott Hotel in Georgetown. The football club stood out as the only sports organization to make a special presentation during the event’s Youth Forum.

A highlight of their participation was when Marcus Tudor, the 20-year-old top scorer of last season’s Elite League with 18 goals, presented Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo with a personalized Slingerz FC jersey. The jersey bore the number 7, symbolizing Jagdeo’s role as Guyana’s 7th President.

This gesture was seen as both a sign of respect for national leadership and a commitment to youth development through football. The club’s initiative resonated strongly with key figures at the conference, including Anthony Whyte, the conference chairman and a football enthusiast whose sons have represented Guyana’s national team.

Slingerz FC’s participation in the conference, which ran from February 18th to 21st, 2025, was part of their corporate social responsibility efforts. The club aims to elevate professional football in Guyana while also engaging various segments of society in discussions on youth empowerment through sport.
