    Missing woman found dead

    A 38-year-old woman, who had been reported missing, was on Sunday found dead at the Stewartville Seawall, West Coast Demerara.

    The victim is Chandini Persaud called “Savi†of Anna Catherina New Scheme, West Coast Demerara.

    Persaud was only reported missing on November 18; family members said she was missing since November 14, according to a statement from the Guyana Police Force (GPF).

    However, on Sunday, police officers had responded to a report of a body found at the Stewartville Seawall. At the time, the body was unidentified and had been transported to the Ezekiel Funeral Home awaiting identification and post-mortem examination.

    On Thursday, a friend of the deceased visited the funeral home and positively identified the body as Persaud.

    A post-mortem examination is pending as investigations continue.
